Privacy Policy

App Name: Remote Control for Any TV

This Privacy Policy describes how Remote Control for Any TV ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our mobile application. The App is developed by Venish Rakholia ("the Developer").

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you can contact us at rakholiavenish81@icloud.com.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information You Provide

The App allows you to pair with and name smart TVs on your local network (e.g., custom device names, room assignments). This information is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party, except as described in Section 1(c) below regarding crash and analytics data.

b) Local Network Information

To discover, pair with, and control your smart TV, the App accesses your local Wi-Fi network to find and communicate with TV devices (Samsung, LG, Sony, Vizio, Hisense, Panasonic, Roku, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, and similar). This communication happens directly between your device and your TV over your local network and is not sent to our servers.

c) Automatically Collected Information

We use third-party service providers that may automatically collect certain information to help us operate, maintain, and improve the App:

  • Analytics (Firebase Analytics) — usage data such as app interactions, feature usage, session duration, and device/app information (device model, OS version, app version, general region).
  • Crash Reporting (Firebase Crashlytics) — diagnostic and crash log data to help us identify and fix bugs.
  • Remote Configuration (Firebase Remote Config) — used to remotely adjust app behavior and features; does not collect personal information beyond standard app/device identifiers.
  • Advertising (Google Mobile Ads / Google User Messaging Platform) — if ads are shown in the App, Google and its partners may collect device identifiers (such as the IDFA, where permitted), general location, and usage data to serve and measure advertising. Where required (e.g., under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework), we will request your permission before any tracking used for advertising purposes.
  • Subscriptions (RevenueCat) — if you purchase a subscription through the App, subscription and transaction information (such as purchase status, product identifiers, and an anonymous user identifier) is processed to manage your subscription. Payment is handled directly by Apple's App Store; we do not receive or store your payment card details.

d) Permissions

The App may request the following permissions:

Permission Purpose
Local Network Access To find and connect to TVs on your Wi-Fi network
App Tracking Transparency To ask your permission before using data for advertising tracking purposes, in compliance with Apple's guidelines

You can manage or revoke these permissions at any time in your device's Settings.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the App's core functionality (discovering, pairing with, and controlling your TV)
  • Diagnose and fix technical issues (crash reporting)
  • Understand how the App is used so we can improve it (analytics)
  • Manage subscriptions and premium features
  • Show and measure advertising, where applicable, and in accordance with your consent choices

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Data Sharing

We share limited information only with the third-party service providers listed above (Google/Firebase, Google Mobile Ads, RevenueCat), each of whom processes data according to their own privacy policies:

We do not otherwise share, rent, or sell your personal information to third parties, except where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

4. Data Storage and Security

Information about your paired devices and preferences is stored locally on your device. Analytics, crash, and subscription data collected by our third-party providers is stored and processed on their respective servers, which may be located outside your country of residence. We take reasonable measures to protect information processed through the App, but no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.

6. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your data, and the right to withdraw consent (e.g., for tracking or advertising) at any time. You can exercise these rights by:

  • Adjusting permissions in your device's Settings (e.g., Local Network, Tracking)
  • Managing or canceling your subscription through your Apple ID account settings
  • Contacting us directly at rakholiavenish81@icloud.com

7. International Users

If you use the App outside of your home country, your information may be processed in countries with different data protection laws than your own, including the United States, where our service providers operate infrastructure.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
